Playing in the snow

Winnipeg broke the record for the warmest January this year since records started in the 1870s - this city, which has been nicknamed Winterpeg because of its frigid winter temperatures.

My kids and my sister’s took advantage of the warmer temperatures in December and January and turned our backyard into a winter playground. They made a huge snowman, built snow forts, dug foxholes, played with toboggans and slid on snow hills.

Wow! That's a lot of snow. It must have been fun. The snowfall we had in previous year, was not enough for one to roll into.

Although I've become a pretty good downhill skier over the years (took up the sport to alleviate my annual winter blues), deep down, I never did appreciate the cold weather and snow. :(

In nyc, I was happiest and most creative/productive during spring and winter. :)

It's obvious the kids had fun with snow. Happy, happy, happy.
